Description

Triethylamine trihydrofluoride acts as a mild and selective fluorinating agent used in the synthesis of acid fluorides and alkyl fluorides. It is also used in the synthesis of vicinal difluorides from epoxides, 3-fluoroazetidine. It is utilized as a selective reagent for the cleavage of O-silyl groups in carbohydrates, nucleotides and cyanohydrins. It is actively involved in the electrochemical fluorodeiodination of alkyl iodides and fluorodesilylation in beta-lactams.

Applications
Le triethylamine trihydrofluoride agit comme un agent fluorescent léger et sélectif utilisé dans la synthèse des fluorures acides et des fluorures d’alkyle. Il est également utilisé dans la synthèse de difluorures vicinaux à partir d’époxydes 3-fluoroazétidine. Il est utilisé comme réactif sélectif pour le clivage des groupes O-silyles dans les glucides, les nucléotides et les cyanohydrines. Il participe activement à la fluorodésiodation électrochimique des iodures d’alkyle et à la fluorodésilylation dans les bêta-lactames.

Solubilité
Miscible à de l’eau, du chloroforme et des hexanes.

Remarques
Hygroscopique. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts et le verre.
