Description

1-Bromobutane is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and as a solvent for cleaning and degreasing. It acts as an alkylating agent as well as to prepare organometallic compounds such as n-butyllithium. It is also involved in the synthesis of procaine and tetracaine. It reacts with magnesium metal to prepare the Grignard reagent, which is used to form carbon-carbon bonds.

Applications
Le 1-bromobutane est utilisé comme intermédiaire dans la synthèse organique et comme solvant pour le nettoyage et le dégraissage. Il agit en tant qu’agent alkylant ainsi que pour préparer des composés organométalliques tels que le n-butyllithium. Il participe également à la synthèse de la procaïne et de la tétracaïne. Il réagit avec le métal de magnésium pour préparer le réactif de Grignard, qui est utilisé pour former des liaisons carbone-carbone.

Solubilité
Miscible à l’éthanol et à l’éther diéthylique. Immiscible avec l’eau.
