Description

O-Acetylsalicylic acid is the prototypical analgesic used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase which results in the inhibition of the biosynthesis of prostaglandins. Aspirin also inhibits platelet aggregation and is used in the prevention of arterial and venous thrombosis. Along with sodium salicylate (sc-3520), aspirin has been shown to block the long terminal repeat from the human immunodeficiency virus and the Ig κ enhancer from NFκB dependent transcription.

Applications
L’acide o-acétylsalicylique est l’analgésique prototype utilisé dans le traitement de la douleur légère à modérée. Il agit comme inhibiteur de la cyclooxygénase, ce qui entraîne l’inhibition de la biosynthèse des prostaglandines. L’aspirine inhibe également l’agrégation plaquettaire et est utilisée dans la prévention de la thrombose artérielle et veineuse. Avec le salicylate de sodium (sc-3520), l’aspirine a démontré sa capacité à bloquer la longue répétition terminale du virus de l’immunodéficience humaine et de l’activateur de lg κ de la transcription NFκB-dépendante.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’éthanol à 100 % (80 mg/ml), le DMSO (41 mg/ml) ou le DMF (30 mg/ml) ; légèrement soluble dans une solution saline tamponnée au phosphate (PBS) de pH 7,2 (2,7 mg/ml).
