Description

n-Heptane is used in paints and coatings, as the rubber cement solvent and GC analysis, HPLC, spectrophotometry and environmental testing. Used as a primary reference standard in determining the knock rating of carburetor fuels and solvent especially for vegetable oils, low temperature thermo- meters, calibrations, and polymerization reaction medium. The hydroisomerization of n-heptane to form dibranched and tribranched products useful for producing high octane gasoline. water/AOT/n-heptane microemulsions plays an essential role for the synthesis, size control, and passivation of CdS nanoparticles.

Applications
Le n-Heptane est utilisé dans les peintures et les revêtements, comme solvant de colle au caoutchouc, ainsi que dans l’analyse par chromatographie en phase gazeuse, la HPLC, la spectrophotométrie et les tests environnementaux. Utilisé comme étalon de référence principal pour déterminer la puissance de détonation des combustibles de carburateur et des solvants, en particulier pour les huiles végétales, les thermomètres à basse température, les étalonnages et le milieu de réaction de polymérisation. L’hydroisomérisation du n-heptane pour créer des produits diramifiés et triramifiés utiles dans la production d’essence à indice d’octane élevé joue un rôle essentiel pour la synthèse, le contrôle de la taille et la passivation des nanoparticules CdS dans les microémulsions eau/AOT/n-heptane .

Solubilité
Miscible avec de l’alcool, du chloroforme et de l’éther. Insoluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants. Stocker dans une zone fraîche, sèche et bien ventilée, à l’écart des substances incompatibles.
