Description
Barium chloride dihydrate is mainly used in the purification of brine solution in caustic chlorine plants, as a reagent in the test for sulfate ion in chemical lab, and as a cleansing agent in the production of other barium chemicals and lubricating oil additives. It is used in the production of molecular sieves, pigments, and paper coatings, and serves as a precursor to fabricate the doped barium zirconate.

Le chlorure de baryum dihydraté est surtout utilisé pour purifier la solution de saumure dans les usines de chlore caustique, comme réactif pour le test de l’ion sulfate en laboratoire chimique et comme agent nettoyant dans la production d’autres substances chimiques de baryum et d’additifs d’huile de lubrification. Il intervient dans la production de tamis moléculaires, de pigments et de revêtements en papier et fait office de précurseur dans la fabrication du zirconate de baryum dopé.
Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau et le méthanol. Insoluble dans l’éthanol et l’acétate d’éthyle.
