Applications
L’ampicilline est utilisée comme antibiotique semi-synthétique qui a une activité antibactérienne structurellement liée à la pénicilline. Elle est largement utilisée comme réactif de sélection pour les cellules transformées exprimant le β-lactamase. Elle est également utilisée pour prévenir et traiter un certain nombre d’infections bactériennes. Elle peut également être utilisée pour prévenir l’infection streptococcique du groupe B chez les nouveau-nés.
